EDWARD III²³ PLANTAGENET (EDWARD II²⁴, EDWARD I "Longshanks"²⁵, HENRY III²⁶, JOHN "Lackland"²⁷, HENRY II²⁸, Geoffrey V²⁹ PLANTAGENET of ANJOU, FULK V "The Young"³⁰ of ANJOU, Fulk IV "Rechin"³¹, Aubri-Geoffrey³² of the GATINAIS, Geoffrey III³³)⁽²⁰⁵⁾ was born in Windsor Castle 13 NOV 1312. EDWARD died 21 JUN 1377 in Sheen Palace, at 64 years of age. His body was interred in Westminster Abbey.

He married Philippa of HAINAULT in York Minster, 24 JAN 1328. Philippa was born in Valenciennes 24 JUN 1311. Philippa was the daughter of Willem III Count of HAINAULT and Jeanne CAPET of VALOIS. Philippa died 14 AUG 1369 in Windsor Castle, at 58 years of age.⁽²⁰⁶⁾ Her body was interred in Westminster Abbey.

He was christened in Chapel of St. Edward, Windsor, 17 NOV 1312. Keeper of the Realm from 26 OCT 1326; King of England 1327-1377.

EDWARD III PLANTAGENET and Philippa of HAINAULT had the following children:

311 i. Edward "The Black Prince"²² PLANTAGENET, Prince of Wales was born in Woodstock 15 JUN 1330. Edward died 8 JUN 1376 in Palace of Westminster, at 45 years of age. He married Joan PLANTAGENET of KENT. Joan was born 29 SEP 1328. Joan was the daughter of Edmund PLANTAGENET Earl of KENT and Margaret WAKE. Joan died 8 AUG 1385 in Wallingford Castle, at 56 years of age.

312 ii. Isabella PLANTAGENET was born in Woodstock 16 JUN 1332. Isabella died before 7 OCT 1382 in London, at approximately 50 years of age. She married Enguerrand VII deCOURCY, Earl of BEDFORD in Windsor, 27 JUL 1365. Enguerrand died 1396.

313 iii. Joan PLANTAGENET was born in Woodstock about FEB 1335. Joan died 2 SEP 1348 in Bayonne, at 13 years of age. She married DAVID II BRUCE, King of Scots. DAVID⁽²⁰⁷⁾ was the son of ROBERT I BRUCE King of Scots and Lady_Elizabeth deBURGH.

314 iv. William PLANTAGENET was born in Hatfield, Hertfordshire before FEB 1337. William died before 8 JUL 1337 at less than one year of age.

316 viii. Blanche PLANTAGENET was born in Tower of London, London, England MAR 1342. Blanche died MAR 1342 in Tower of London, London, England, at less than one year of age.

317 ix. Mary PLANTAGENET was born in Waltham, near Winchester 9 OCT 1344. Mary died 1361/1362 at 17 years of age. She married John V deMONTFORT, Duke of BRITTANY 1361. John died 1399.

318 x. Margaret PLANTAGENET was born in Windsor Castle 20 JUL 1346. Margaret died after 1 OCT 1361 at approximately 15 years of age. She married John HASTINGS, Earl of PEMBROKE. John died 1375.

319 xi. William PLANTAGENET was born in Windsor Castle before 24 JUN 1348. William died SEP 1348 at less than one year of age.

320 xii. Thomas of Woodstock PLANTAGENET, Duke of GLOUCESTER was born in Woodstock 7 JAN 1355. Thomas died SEP 1397 in Calais, at 42 years of age.⁽²⁰⁸⁾ RESEARCH NOTES: strangled He married Eleanor deBOHUN 1374.

Eleanor died 3 OCT 1399 in Barking Abbey, Essex.
