John died 3 FEB 1399 in Leicester Castle, at 58 years of age.

He married three times. He married Blanche of LANCASTER in Reading, 13 MAY 1359. Blanche was born 1341. Blanche⁽¹⁸¹⁾ was the daughter of Henry PLANTAGENET 1st Duke of LANCASTER and Isabel deBEAUMONT. Blanche died 12 SEP 1369 in Bolingbroke Castle, at 28 years of age. He married Constanza of CASTILE in Roquefort, SEP 1371. Constanza was the daughter of Pedro. Constanza died 24 MAR 1394 in Leicester. He married Catherine SWYNFORD in Lincoln, 13 JAN 1396. Catherine was born 1350. Catherine was the daughter of Payn ROET. Catherine died 10 MAY 1403 in Lincoln, at 52 years of age. Titular King of Castile

276 iv. HENRY IV BOLINGBROKE, Earl of DERBY⁽¹⁸³⁾ was born in Bolingbroke castle, Lincolnshire 4 APR 1366. HENRY died 20 MAR 1413 in Westminster Abbey, at 46 years of age. His body was interred in Canterbury Cathedral. He married twice. He married Mary deBOHUN in Arundel Castle, 1380. Joan was the daughter of Charles II and Joan. Joan died 9 JUL 1437 in Havering atte Bower, Essex, at 67 years of age. Her body was interred in Canterbury Cathedral. Created Duke of Hereford, 1397; King of England 1399-1413. First of the Lancastrian kings of England.

279 viii. Thomas BEAUFORT⁽¹⁸⁸⁾ was born about 1377. Thomas died 1427 at 50 years of age. Chancellor of England when Prince Henry (the future Henry V) headed the Council.
