Matilda (Maud)³¹ of Flanders (Baldwin V "De Lilles"³², Baldwin IV "The Bearded"³³, (Arnold) Arnulf II "The Young"³⁴ Count of Flanders, (Baudoin) Baldwin III³⁵, Arnulf I (Arnold) "The Old"³⁶ Count of Flanders & ARTOIS, Baldwin II³⁷ Count of Flanders, ARTOIS & BOULOGNE, Baldwin I "Bras-de-Fer"³⁸ of Flanders) was born in Flanders about 1031. Matilda died 3 NOV 1083 in Caen, at 52 years of age. Her body was interred in Abbey of the Holy Trinity, Caen.

She married WILLIAM I "The Conqueror" 7th Duke of Normandy about 1053. WILLIAM was born in Falaise, Normandy 8) 1027. WILLIAM⁽⁵⁴³⁾ was the son of Robert II "Le Diable" 6th Duke of Normandy and Herleve (Arlette). WILLIAM died 9 SEP 1087 in Priory of St. Gervaise near Ro. His body was interred in Abbey of St. Stephen, Caen. (See WILLIAM I "The Conqueror" 7th Duke of Normandy for the children resulting from this marriage.)
