Training Wiley All week has been windy, and today we
had windy with
the threat of storms. Wiley hasn't shown
to be spooky at
all when ridden. Christina took him along
the fenceline, where
there are all sorts of noisy and strange
things to spook at.
He just went along like a horse that knew
what to do.
This time Christina got on and Wiley
knew he was being ridden and they went right to work.
Christina asked and encouraged Wiley
to stretch down. He was quite willing.
She introduced the ground poles. He
does a bit of grinding when he's concerned.
They spent a good bit of time trotting
around.
Here they're going around the pasture.
Christina says his trot is smooth and steady.
Good or bad, our pasture is on a slope.
Wiley was careful to balance himself and listen to his rider going downhill.
Christina half halting and Wiley listening
and using himself.
Doing it right, but a little tense
going over the poles.
A little forward over the poles and
quite animated.
My 'arena' isn't the levelest and
Wiley's learning to watch his feet and balance over uneven ground.
