He married Joan HANOVER, Princess Mary of CAMBRIDGE. Joan was born 1833. Joan was the daughter of Adolphus Frederick HANOVER and Augusta Wilhelmina Louisa of HESSE-CASSEL. Joan died 1897 at 64 years of age.
