The cabinets are done
I'm thrilled with my cabinets. Now we're
on
to replacing the wood stringers with black
metal
ones and figuring out the finished stairs.
I'm
leaning toward 2 pieces of sanded plywood
glued together with nosing put around
2 sides.
I'm thinking I'll stain it to match the
cabinets....
I will need to touch up the walls
and ceiling. The stain didn't always stay on the wood.
I was terrified of the nosing, but
clamps and glue worked smashingly.
The next thing will be to pull up
the stairs, pull down the stringers and install the new metal stringers
that I ordered. Here's hoping it goes smoothly.
The curtains are in, and I think the
metal stringers will work well with the railing and the look of the room.
We'll put in proper hand rails once the stairs are finished.
