My 2nd floor floor is in. We'll let the wood breath for a few weeks, then it gets glued down and I can stain and seal it. So far I'm thinking of a dark color for the floor. I love Bart's whitewash, but the contrast might be nice.

 

Looking down the stairs at the second floor. The walls are textured, but they do need some paint. Still thinking about that, too.

My curtain choice. A bit colorful, but what I liked. With the cost of curtains (didn't really realize how expensive they could be) we're lucky the windows are so small that we only need one panel each. We'll just pull them off to one side when we want them open.

We need to decide what to do with the stringers. We've considered replacing them with black metal, but there's cost and time involved in that. The black paint didn't work. Maybe white? The final steps will still be slabs of wood, but maybe not construction grade pine.

The 3rd floor plywood stained and sealed. Very white, and a really neat look.

There's glossy sealer on the top of the whitewash stain. We used water based for both parts. There will be a rug (blues and silvers) once we find the perfect one.

The choice for the 3rd floor fan and lights. A bit of modern in the castle.

More masculine curtains for the 3rd floor. We have to touch up some paint and decide if the color will continue over the textured wall. We've got the rest of the curtains to go up, but the cordless drill went out, so I need a new one of those before putting up all the curtain rods.

We need to finish off the sheetrock that's in the stairwell and find a molding that we like that will make the curve. To the left are the stair railings. We need to figure out how those get installed, too.
